Hand-spun Yarns
Use
handspun or hand dyed yarns to personalise a garment
made from commercial yarn - add a stripe, use it for cuffs, it’s all in
your imagination. These yarns also make great
scarves, beanies and wraps; alternatively, yarnoholics
might just like to have a few in their stash.
Each skein of hand spun yarn is
unique and may differ slightly from its companion
(even if spun and dyed at the same time).
When using multiple skeins work 2 rows from
one skein and then 2 rows from the next carrying the
yarn loosely up the side.

Dark &
Stormy Night $27.50 per skein A beaded yarn that combines a single of purple with a single of black-grey-white. Not a chunky yarn, but the grey single is "uneven" so your knitting will have some extra dimension. The beads are threaded onto the purple single as it is spun and they are approximately 1.5m apart - it is very difficult to see the beads in the photo, but believe me they are there. 100% Australian merino, this yarn would make a great scarf or wrap. |
Rainbow Chunky
A chunky yarn hand spun and dyed from 100% Australian merino. Total of 3 skeins, approximately the same size, total metreage of 285m, total weight 240g. |
Summer Pudding An uneven yarn that combines the colours of summer berries on one single with natural on the other single, could also be called "berries with cream". 100% Australian merino, each skein weighs at least 85g. |
